Six disciplines. One academy. All levels welcome.

Combat Defence Systems teaches a complete martial arts curriculum. Whether you want to compete, get fit, learn self-defence, or train with your children, there is a program for you. Every class is taught by a certified instructor in a safe, matted facility. All memberships include access to multiple disciplines. There are no lock-in contracts.

Jeet Kune Do

Jeet Kune Do is not a style. It is a training philosophy developed by Bruce Lee: absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, add what is specifically your own. Our JKD classes are self-defence focused, teaching you to flow between punching, kicking, trapping, and grappling ranges. We are the only Dan Inosanto-certified JKD academy in Perth.

Muay Thai Kickboxing

Muay Thai is renowned for its fitness and conditioning benefits. Known as the art of eight limbs, it develops punches, kicks, knees, and elbows in a high-energy class that gives the body a total workout. Our Muay Thai program is suitable for beginners and experienced students.

Kali / Silat

Kali is the traditional Filipino martial art of Escrima and Arnis. It is weapons-based but translates all techniques to empty hand. Silat adds Indonesian destructions, breaks, takedowns, and sweeps. Together they form a devastating street self-defence system employed by military and law enforcement agencies worldwide.

BJJ / Submission Grappling

Our no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling classes teach control, escapes, and submissions on the ground. Drawing from wrestling, judo, and sambo, this program builds patience, humility, and technical skill. Beginners are welcome.

MMA

Mixed Martial Arts combines the stand-up striking of Muay Thai with the ground game of BJJ. Our MMA classes are open to intermediate and advanced students who are already training in both disciplines. There is no one-size-fits-all approach; we teach you to adapt based on your body type and attributes.

Self Defence

Our self-defence program draws from JKD and Kali / Silat to teach practical, efficient, reality-based protection. We cover all ranges of combat, with and without weapons, including multiple attacker scenarios. These are essential life skills for today's world.

Personal Training

One-on-One Training

Personal training is available by appointment in all disciplines, as well as fitness, weight lifting, and strength and conditioning. Sessions are individualised to your goals and taught by a qualified instructor.

For Children

Kids Martial Arts

We teach children from age 4. Little Lions build focus and coordination. Junior and teen classes expand into Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai, and BJJ. All kids programs teach respect, situational awareness, and anti-bullying skills.
